Last week just flew by!

Wow! Is it Tuesday, July 28th, already? The summer is flying by and I think, somehow, I lost most of last week! I got a great email from Suzanne in Massachusetts last week and my post on native gardening has gotten her excited! Hi Suzanne! She wanted me to post some information on how to reduce weed growth in a "green way" - which I will do! - but first I wanted to update y'all (I'm originally from West Virginia and sometimes the y'all slips in there!) on some great news! Kristine from A Primitive Place (http://www.aprimitiveplace.org) announced it on the forum yesterday that....Country Sampler magazine is coming to take pictures of our house in September! When I last talked to Donna (the editor) she expressed an interest in putting our house in their Fall Home Tour 2010 edition! I hadn't announced anything yet, cause I actually didn't believe it - until I saw it in print on the Primitive Place forum! LOL! OMG! Thank you Kristine!! You made it real with that wonderful post! They are really coming in September! Linda from Behind My Red Door gave me some great info on what to do and how nice Franklin and Esther are in person. Thanks Linda! Now let me think....Apple cake, flat bread sandwiches, Mediterranean salad.... Ooops! Another one of those tangents! Anyway, things are even CRAZIER around here now as we work on the new master bath and start getting the house ready for September!
I just want to add a little note of thanks to a great friend - Shelley Brewer from Painted Pony Primitives (http://www.picturetrail.com/paintedponyprimitives)- she was the one who gave me that first wonderful push to start my website and to submit my home pics to magazines for their consideration! I am also in the midst of sending pictures to twigs at Mercantile Gatherings so she can decide which edition to put them in, and I have recently submitted pictures to Country Living (fingers crossed). Thanks Shelley!
On another note - I want to, again, congratulate my wonderful daughter on her wedding last Saturday! This is her second marriage and she wanted to have a quiet ceremony and then a BBQ in their backyard as her reception. Boy, did we party! I have a large family and all of us live here in Delaware so when we get together it's always a party! With the addition of their friends and his relatives - it was CRAZY! We had a great time and I wish my baby girl the same happiness that my husband and I have had over the last 33 years!
Now its back to the bathroom - I think the paint is dry and ready for a second coat - and I promise - next post - weeds!!!!
